Your Special Gifts

God gives each of us gifts, talents, and personalities. We can be funny, athletic, sweet, relational, hard-working, determined, empathetic, artistic, and the list goes on. It seems to me that there are a few special gifts and talents we are given that, when we operate in them, for His glory, we achieve greatness.
So which ones are those "special" gifts? The gifts that are designed to be energized by His Spirit?
I love to play golf and I am ok at it. God has blessed me with being athletic and golf is one way I express that. While I am playing and having fun, I don’t feel a rush of excitement and uncontrolled passion for more. I never had a hole-in-one. (This is not due to the Holy Spirit). I also don't have a feeling of deep connection with God after or while I play necessarily.
But, when I start to talk to someone about the person God has created them to be, everything changes.
As I am able to speak into someone’s life and help them break down lies and walls, help them pull back layers, and uncover God’s purpose for them, I shine. Not me, but God.
God's supernatural grace covers me in some conversations and He gives me insights I wouldn't know. When I speak, the words are no longer mine, but His. I often find myself thinking in my head, “Oh hey, that’s good, I should write that down!” But it’s not my thought and if it is needed again I know God will bring it to my mind.
God energizes the speaking gift He has given me when I am teaching, He energizes my thoughts and hands as I write, and there are even times when I feel incredibly close to God through exercise and movement, just being free and who He made me to be!
So what about you? Are you discovering more about the beautiful mystery God created inside you?
Think about the things that make your heart beat a little faster as you do them. The things that captivate your attention. What are you doing when you feel that deep calling to deep connection with God?
As you start to ask Him for more, a fresh outpouring, and do some true self-discovery with Him leading the way, you will unlock it. It can be so many things, from physical talent to artistic ones, relational intelligence, passions, and so much more.
Why are you still going through life with the same shortcomings and disappointments?
Take the time to discover some of the mystery of who God made you to be and He will start handing over keys to doors you didn’t even know existed. In that way, you will show His glory and let others see the power of God in all you do.
I love this! How many times in our day do we really think about God while we doing are “normal” daily routines? But, just like you said, when we are given the opportunity to pour into someone else’s life and talk about God, our hearts begin to stir and we see the power of God poured out right before us in the words He gives us to say. Such a good thought to realize that we are all given talents from our Creator. This remind me to use the gifts he has given me for His glory. Thank you for be obedient and listening to the voice of God. ❤️
