That's Not My Name

A child of God has been given a new name; His Child. It's the only name we answer to.

We choose what to answer to. When we answer to something, that has an identifier and power over us. We buy into the names of worthless, ugly, fat, lazy, quitter, lost, lonely, boring, and more. WHY? We have had a name change and those things shouldn’t even turn our heads anymore.

When I hear someone yelling the name Susie in a crowded airport, I don’t turn to see if they are talking to me.

My name is Jill, so why would I think someone calling for Susie is speaking to me?

We do the same thing with the devil, but instead of blocking out names that aren’t ours, we respond to the call. We hear the names of our past and turn to hear what he has to say. What a waste of time! Whatever he tells us doesn't apply to us because that isn't who we are.

Don't waste your time, don't waste your energy. He is trying to talk to you, but if he doesn't even know your name or won't address you by your name, why would you give weight to what he says?

Do you trust people who give you advice but don't care what your name is?

STOP IT! That isn’t your name. Don't turn around, simply say, "That's not my name," and continue on.
