Mountains Are Hard To Climb

Have you ever heard someone talk about a "mountain top" experience? Ever had one yourself? As you go through life, do you seek to find the next mountaintop often? Do you feel like you are in a valley waiting to be on a mountain?

We have all felt this way, it's normal. God gave me a word for myself that I want to use to encourage you regarding mountains and valleys. We have talked about the goal and the journey and how our eyes shouldn't be looking beyond the everyday experience and assignment of God. But, we also need to realize that life isn't lived in a teleporting type of state.

We are often in the normal plain of life (the valley) and sometimes we find darker valleys and lighter ones, dryer or more lush ones, but the point is, we aren't often on top of a mountain, we are down with everyone else living our lives. What I mean by teleporting is when we are in a valley and long to be on a mountain, we don't magically appear there.

I lived in Phoneix for over 13 years and loved to be outdoors. I hike a lot of mountains and let me tell you, it's not easy, it takes time, and you have to stop to catch your breath. If you're me, you stumble a lot because you are clumsy, there are scrapes, bruises, soreness, and thirst on the way. But at the top, there is a beautiful view and accomplishment in your heart.

That scenario is what God showed me one morning. He told me, "Just because it's hard, difficult, and painful, doesn't mean you're still in the valley you were in. I am leading you up a mountain, but mountains are hard to climb."

I want to remind you to keep your eyes on Jesus, but sometimes God gives us little encouragement

along the way that we are close to a breakthrough. Just because it's hard doesn't mean you aren't close to the top of a mountain. Don't seek the mountain, but realize this journey is so much better with Jesus. He knows what the pain brings and He will lead you as long as you trust Him. No matter what the terrain.

This is so good. I never really thought about it like that before. What a great insight. Thank you for sharing.
